Preacher Man

Woke up with a preacher man's voice in my head...telling my sins and the sins of others, for dancing on the borders of things, for living our two natured selves...the wild folk and the witches, creatures of the wind and fire and water, living freely in the earth. His voice was gentle and matter of fact. He was a kind man.
This song came to mind.

A good exercise for strumming the guitar

Along with learning bass runs and fingerpicking I am practicing strumming patterns and as always chord changes. Timely chord changes, I have a feeling, will be a lifelong pursuit. I found this lesson over the weekend on Youtube by Rockongoodpeople and it's a good one. You run through four chords that are similar in that two fingers stay on the same strings the whole time (makes for a very sore pinky finger though, I must say) and the other fingers tootle around through the chords. The change to Dsus4 is difficult for me but I have finally been able to lift my fingers up together and mash them down simultaneously...well sort of...but I'm getting there I think. Check out David's video lesson, it's a good one and below is my little video practicing it with some of my own strumming mixed in. I'm getting a little better at strumming without a pick but I keep hitting my guitar, the poor dear.
